Lets have one thing clear. Batman is one of the biggest super heroes in pop culture. Heck, even people that DOESN'T Read comics, knows about Batman. But...One thing that has been a discussion among fans...is that some people consider Batman to be overpowered...and...this is something I can Both understand...and Not understand...Allow me to explain.
First of all...Batman is a mortal man. He has just trained himself in all sorts of subjects, Martial Arts, Languages, he has basically turned his body to ultimate perfection in order to fight crime...But...the fact that he is a mortal man is one of the reasons why some people say that he can be overpowered, because there are times when he does what a so called normal man should not be able to do. In that Regard...I can understand. But...there are to things people Don't take into account when they use that as an argument.
First of...Its the universe Batman lives in. Its a comic book universe. people do amazing things here, and people can survive a LOT of things. heck, in Arkham Knight for instance, the batmobile is made so that when it hits a living person it electrifies them, so they get pushed out of harms way. And Thugs IN game says that being hit by the batmobile doesn't kill anyone...but...experts who have analyzed the game, says that in real life, anyone hit by a car like that would be dead. Doesn't matter if its some electricity thingie, or something. they would be stone dead. And thats the key. Because in comic book universe, Logic works in a different way then it does in real life. Take Superman for instance. HOW does he fly? he has the ability to fly, but you can't really explain it, because sometimes he does have the same level of gravity as other people, other times he doesn't, and a living being can't really control their own gravity, and they have never said that superman CAN control his own gravity, but he still flies. And thats also the key. You shouldn't put too much logic into these comics, because. like I said, Logic works in a totally different way in a comic book universe then it does in real life. If logic did work the same way, then how come The Joker's hair is still green? Even if the chemicals had bleached his hair and skin, his hair wouldn't have stayed green, because hair grows. you can see that with people who dyes their hair in real life, as the hair grows back out and bam. There is your normal hair color.
So...thats one of the things many people don't seem to take into account when it comes to the discussions of Batman being overpowered. The very different Logic of the comic book universe.
Then, there is another thing people also don't take into account...And that is the Trinity. The Trinity is the DCU's most famous Heroes. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Superman...is the light and powerful. Batman is the dark and mortal. Wonder Woman is a bit of both, seeing as she is powerful, but also a warrior. but you know one thing about these three? They are all three EQUALS. DC treats them as Equals in the universe. They don't say that Batman is better then the others, or Superman is better, or something. And thats the point of the trinity. All three are Equals. And...well. Like I said, both WW and SM are Both Powerful, and Batman is supposed to be equal to them...Then some of the things he can do, can seem as amazing. But if you take into account that he is supposed to be Equal to Superman and Wonder Woman, and the logic of the comic book universe....then...HOW Exactly is he Overpowered? Batman has never been able to take Darkseid on his own. He has no real experience with magic. Im sorry, but...when you take into account the Equality in the trinity, and the logic of the comic book universe, I REALLY Fail to see how Batman is supposed to be overpowered. In fact, in Rebirth he has been shown as being anything BUT overpowered. He has been beaten up A LOT, By bane, Reverse flash, ETC. How exactly does that Scream Overpowered?
In fact, the only character I would say IS overpowered...is Damian Wayne, because....well. Despite him being popular, and the Son of Batman, and the logic of the comic book universe, he has never been described as being an Equal To Batman. In fact, since he is still in the Robin Identity he should not be equal to Batman, seeing as Robin has usually been described as the identity heroes use when they are still getting training FROM Batman. thats most likely why Jason, Dick and Tim all changes their identities to Nightwing, Red Hood and Red Robin, because they weren't the side-kick anymore, but their own heroes. Heck Batman has even said that with Duke he is done training him as Robin, and instead Training him into being his own hero straight away. And yet...despite all this, Its like they are trying to say that Damian is supposed to be Equal to Batman, when infact that can't be the case when you look at it, because....like I said, batman has been beaten up a lot......and he is equal to Superman and Wonder Woman...and yet, Damian has NOT been beaten up as much as Batman has here. Its like they are saying he is MORE powerful then Batman. And when you take into account that means he is more powerful then the friggin Trinity, AND He is still a KID, and can't possibly have achieved the same level of training as Batman got, since Batman got WAY more experience then Damian, since Batman is much older and all....Im sorry, but Comic Book Logic can't save Damian here.
So...yeah. I honestly fail to see why People say Batman is overpowered in the comics as of now, when you look at the logic of the comic book universe, and The fact that he is supposed to be Equal to the Trinity. Damian is the one that should be called Overpowered, Not Batman.
But....this is all just my personal opinion and views on the matter. if you disagree, thats fine. I respect that, but this is how I see the things here. Take care!
